Airship Weekends

R34 Adv Nwsltr 3R34 Inchinnan 001

There will be an airship weekend on 10-11 May 2014, as a tourism initiative between Diss Museum and the Pulham Pennoyer Centre.

Pulham will be putting events on all that weekend. So you can just go there if you wish.

Or you can come to the Park Hotel in Diss for an 11.00 am start on the Saturday morning. There will be a presentation about airships, followed by a buffet lunch at the church hall, plus an exhibition there.

This is followed by a visit to nearby Diss Museum where there will be a World War One display, including Pulham airships.

We then go to Pulham, about 10 miles away. There will be a lift for anyone without transport.

The Pennoyer Centre, with much airship knowledge and expertise, will take over and entertain visitors.

Back at the hotel there will be a feature film about airships and, in the evening, a re-creation of one of the commemorative meals for the R34 airship, with an in-role speaker.

On the Sunday morning there is an optional walking tour of Diss, or people can go back to Pulham if they wish.

Payment is made direct to the hotel, for the dinner and Saturday overnight stay. We ask for an extra £10 per person, just to cover the lunch and other expenses.

Anyone who wishes to come along for the day, without staying at the hotel, can just pay the £10. If they wish to attend the dinner they can pay the hotel.
